So, you’re wondering what to do on your first date? You don’t want to mess this up. Well, here are some ideas that may help you impress the love of your life!
Breakfast in bed
This is a classic idea for a first date. It’s sweet and romantic, but it can also be really expensive if you go all out with bacon and eggs benedict or something like that. The key here is to make sure breakfast isn’t too heavy so both of you aren’t feeling sluggish later on in the day. An omelet or cereal might be perfect!
Get off the couch and get outside! Take them somewhere they’ve never been before – maybe even find a new trail you’ve never walked yourself. What better way to get to know each other than by walking and talking?
This is my personal favorite type of the first date, and it’s my go-to whenever I’m trying to impress a guy. Make it extra special by bringing your cutest blanket and a cute little basket to put it all in. Include a cute note that says “I hope my company is as enjoyable as my food.”
This one’s pretty self-explanatory, but make sure you know if they like the band or not before buying their ticket. Nothing worse than realizing halfway through a terrible concert that you picked something they hate.
This is my go-to when I want to impress my friends. You don’t have to be an art or history buff, so you can just walk around and look at the pretty stuff together – maybe even get inspired for your own art collection! At the very least, it’ll keep you busy for a few hours so you won’t have to talk as much 🙂
Do you know what my favorite romantic comedy is? “The Big Sick,” is a true story about a Pakistani American comedian and his white girlfriend trying to navigate their cultural differences. And one of my favorite scenes in the movie involves the two going bowling on a date. So you can either watch it for some inspiration or just go bowling for a fun experience.
This is my other go-to for my friends. Ice skating can be really romantic and cute, so you should definitely try it out with your significant other! It’s also a great place to slip in a few kisses if the mood strikes ;).
This is my go-to for my gay friends. There’s nothing like lying down together and looking up at the night sky – especially if it’s date night during a meteor shower! I did this with my last boyfriend, and it was so romantic.
Does your partner love “Cards Against Humanity?” Then spend a hilarious night playing different board games while you get to know each other. Don’t forget the snacks and drinks!
I’m not talking about Starbucks here. That’s another story for another time. I’m talking about going to some cute little place and just enjoying your hot beverages and good conversation together.
